Daniel Sturridge and Jordan Henderson could be doubts for Liverpool’s clash with Burnley after continuing to miss first-team training.
The England pair have been sidelined since missing the Reds’ previous two games against Leicester City and Arsenal due to respective hip and foot injuries.
Henderson suffered extensive bruising on his foot on the eve of the trip to the King Power Stadium which also ruled him out for the Gunners’ visit to Anfield.
Sturridge, meanwhile, is nursing a hip strain sustained after he recovered from a virus that saw the striker sent home from Liverpool’s mid-season training camp.
With five days remaining before Burnley travel to Merseyside, the duo have ample time to recover in time to face Sean Dyche’s side this weekend.
Should they fail to convince Jurgen Klopp of their full fitness, Liverpool can continue to call upon Emre Can to deputise in midfield in his captain’s absence.
The German midfielder excelled in the 3-1 win over Arsenal while Divock Origi can plug the gap left by Sturridge’s most recent lay-off on the substitutes’ bench.
