Henderson doubtful for Liverpool FC clash with Arsenal

Jordan Henderson could miss Liverpool’s clash with Arsenal after he was ruled out for the trip to Leicester City.

Henderson suffered a foot injury in training on the eve of tonight’s game with the Premier League champions that forced him out of the Reds’ travelling squad.

Although the Liverpool captain did not suffer any fracture in the incident, scans show that he suffered heavy bruising in the incident at the club’s Melwood base.

It means Henderson could be sidelined for Arsenal’s visit to Anfield this weekend despite medical examinations showing he did not incur any lasting damage.

Jurgen Klopp may be forced to call upon Emre Can or Lucas Leiva to fill in for Saturday’s early-evening meeting between the two Champions League hopefuls.

Vice-captain James Milner, who has been deputising at left-back for most of this season, is another option to step into the void of Henderson’s prospective absence.
