Liverpool expect Naby Keita to feature in pre-season despite an injury recurrence.
Keita was withdrawn during Guinea’s Africa Cup of Nations clash with Nigeria after aggravating an adductor problem that ended his debut season with the Reds.
The midfielder missed the final four games of the campaign for Jurgen Klopp’s side after pulling up in the Champions League semi-final first leg at Barcelona.
He is now set to sit out his country’s last 16 tie against Algeria on Friday but Liverpool are confident that Keita will be available for their summer preparations.
Medics from Anfield have assessed the 24-year-old’s injury and are confident that he will be able to play some involvement at the start of their new season.
The European champions have advised Keita, a £52.75 million signing from RB Leipzig last year, to take a short holiday before reporting back for training.
Liverpool are set to take part in a multi-city tour of the United States, where they will face Borussia Dortmund, Sevilla and Sporting Lisbon later this month.
Guinea coach Paul Put claimed in May that Keita would recover from his injury in time for the Champions League final.
