Naby Keita could be a surprise inclusion for Liverpool’s Champions League final.
Keita was ruled out for the remainder of the Reds’ season with an adductor injury picked up during last month’s semi-final first leg defeat against Barcelona.
Jurgen Klopp forecast that the midfielder would be absent for up to two months, also ruling him out of Guinea’s Africa Cup of Nations campaign this summer.
However Keita’s homeland now believe that he could feature in both the tournament as well as the June 1 showpiece against Tottenham in Madrid.
Guinea head coach Paul Put has claimed that the 24-year-old’s recovery is progressing to the point he could again feature for Liverpool this term.
“He consulted his doctor in Switzerland as I said at the beginning. He is in treatment with his doctor,” he told Foot224.
“It is said that he will maybe in two weeks [be ready] to resume [training] with the group.
“It is even possible that he is in the group for the Champions League final if what I have been told is true.
“We will see. That’s the news that I got.”
