Outgoing Liverpool chief executive Ian Ayre is set to take the reins at 1860 Munich this summer.
Ayre announced in March that he would be standing down at the end of this season following six years involved in the daily running of Anfield.
But the 53-year-old will remain in football administration after he was lined up to become the new general manager of 1860 Munich.
Majority shareholder Hasan Ismaik has turned to Ayre in efforts to revive the German second division club’s fortunes as they target a Bundesliga return.
