Sakho’s Liverpool FC future in doubt after Klopp responds to outburst

Mamadou Sakho faces a fight to save his Liverpool career after Jurgen Klopp described his social media outburst as ‘not positive’.

The out-of-favour defender took the extraordinary step of speaking out about his Anfield future with post on Snapchat in the early hours of Saturday.

In the message, Sakho claimed that supporters had been kept in the dark about his first-team exile since recovering from an Achilles problem.

And Klopp has hinted at the severity of the potential fall-out despite preferring to focus on the Reds’ emphatic 5-1 win over Hull City.

He said: “The thing is I was kind of confronted with this, somebody told me this morning there was something I should know about.

“Actually on a match day I’m really in a completely wrong mood to think about things like this. I know something was on the thing that neither of us use (Snapchat).

“But it’s not the right moment to speak about it. Most of the times in life in makes sense to think about something and then it’s more likely that you give the right answer.

“It’s not positive I would say. I will address the situation when I think it’s the right moment.

“I haven’t decided when that is yet. But it’s not Christmas.”
