Jurgen Klopp has admitted that he is unsure wbether Daniel Sturridge will be fit in time for the start of Liverpool’s Premier League season.
The England international missed the Reds’ friendly encounters with Barcelona and Mainz 05 last weekend after suffering a fresh hip problem.
His absence from the Wembley win over the Spanish champions was described as ‘precautionary’ while he also did not travel to Germany.
When asked about the striker’s chances of featuring in next weekend’s opener at Arsenal, Klopp replied: “No idea – that’s a two word answer!”
Sturridge underwent successful hip surgery last summer in the United States which saw him make a belated return to action for Liverpool last season in mid-September.
