Mamadou Sakho will stay at Liverpool FC despite tour expulsion

Mamadou Sakho’s agent has insisted that the Liverpool defender’s future remains secure despite his expulsion from the club’s US tour.

Jurgen Klopp took the decision to send Sakho home from the Reds’ pre-season preparations following a continual flouting of team protocol.

Roma are said to have expressed an interested in taking the Frenchman, 26, on loan as they seek defensive reinforcements ahead of the new season.

But Sakho’s representative Niakate Housseyni has refuted the link with the Serie A club and insists his client’s future remains at Anfield.

“No, I haven’t had any contact with Roma,” he told LaRoma 24.

“He didn’t have an argument with his manager, Jurgen Klopp.

“So he’ll stay at Liverpool? Yes, he’s a Liverpool player. I don’t think Roma have that opportunity right now.”
