UEFA have hit Liverpool with a fresh fine for an ‘illicit banner’ at May’s Europa League final.
Anfield officials were handed an additional €16,000 (£13,410) punishment at the outcome into supporter misbehaviour during the club’s 3-1 defeat to Sevilla.
Fans setting off fireworks and crowd disturbances at St Jakob-Park took the Reds’ charge sheet with European football’s governing body up to seven.
The wording of the banner in Basel that prompted the retrospective disciplinary action from UEFA is currently unknown.
Sevilla, meanwhile, were ordered to pay £14,236 for crowd disturbances and throwing objects at the game in Switzerland.
Jurgen Klopp’s side accumulated a combined £53,600 in fines due to a series of breaches during the latter stages of last season’s Europa League campaign.
Liverpool’s last 16 win over Manchester United on March 17 saw the club forced to pay a £31,000 fine for illicit chanting, crowd disturbances and a delayed second-half kick off.
A further £8,000 penalty was issued after fans set off flares during April’s comeback over Borussia Dortmund – with a similar charge in the first leg still yet to be decided upon.
