An EasyJet plane was forced to return to Liverpool after a medical emergency.
Flight EZY3439 left the city’s John Lennon Airport at 6.05am on Tuesday (August 25) and had been due to land in Malta at around 10.30am local time.
But the flight had to be turned around just 15 minutes into its planned journey due to an onboard passenger requiring ‘urgent’ medical attention.
The passenger was met by medical services on arrival back at the Speke terminal while EasyJet confirmed the original flight has been rescheduled for later in the day.
A spokesperson said: “Flight EZY3439 from Liverpool to Malta this morning returned to Liverpool, due to a customer onboard requiring urgent medical attention.
“The customer was met by medical services on arrival and the flight will continue to Malta later this morning.
“The safety and wellbeing of our customers and crew is always EasyJet’s highest priority.”
