Luis Enrique has opened up about his previous visit to Anfield as a fan.
The former midfielder will lead out Paris Saint-Germain against Liverpool for a second time as manager in Tuesday’s Champions League quarter final clash.
He also played against the Reds with Barcelona, who won a Champions League group fixture and losing a UEFA Cup semi-final in the same year.
But the Spaniard, whose side hold a 2-0 lead heading into the return leg, once found himself cheering on PSG’s next opponents from The Kop.
Enrique revealed that his one-time Barca teammate Luis Garcia made the unique visit possible shortly after he had retired from playing in 2004.
He said: “I don’t remember the match but it was nice.
“I wanted to live as a supporter one of the best stadiums in the world, Anfield, and I enjoyed it a lot. It was different.
“I got the tickets because Luis Garcia was playing here and he gave me the tickets. It was very nice, very special, very different to what I live in the past as a player.
“I enjoyed it a lot.”
