Ragnar Klavan is undergoing a medical ahead of his £4.2 million move to Liverpool.
The Estonia captain travelled to Merseyside earlier today to finalise the details of his switch to the Reds from Bundesliga side Augsburg.
Jurgen Klopp’s decision to move for Klavan was prompted by recent injuries to centre-backs Mamadou Sakho and Joe Gomez while Joel Matip is recovering from a slight ankle problem.
Klavan has represented his country more than 100 times and faced Liverpool during both legs of last season’s Europa League last 32 encounter with Augsburg.
His impending arrivals is seen as a direct replacement for Kolo Toure, who left Anfield earlier this summer on a free transfer.
