Owners Fenway Sports Group have seen the club’s stock ranked at £1.16 billion following significant growth since last year’s valuation of £644 million.

Extending their current shirt sponsorship with Standard Chartered until 2019 was a key factor in Liverpool’s newly-acquired financial status.

They are set to net in the region of £32 million annually from the deal with the global banking giant between now and the end of their partnership.

A growth in income from TV coverage has also contributed with broadcasting revenues up to £436 million while commercial activities rose to £362 million.
