Martin Skrtel’s £5.5 million move to Fenerbahce has finally been completed.
The defender joins the Turkish club following eight years’ service with Liverpool.
Skrtel fell out of favour under Jurgen Klopp last season despite his status as one of the Reds’ longest-serving players.
And the frosty relations between the Slovakia defender and his erstwhile manager intensified prior to his departure after he appeared to publicly criticise Klopp on social media.
Speaking after his departure was sealed, he said: “I’m happy to be here.
“Liverpool is a giant club but Fenerbahce is very stable and has rapidly progressed since the beginning.
“Fenerbahce is [also] a giant club so I am delighted to accept their offer.”
