Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen could join Scottish Premier League champions Celtic if he fails to agree a contract extension at Anfield.
Allen, who is included in the Wales squad for EURO 2016, has a year remaining on his current deal at Liverpool, however he is yet to recieve any assurances that he will be offered an extension.
“Joe has a year left on his current contract at Liverpool and nobody has spoken to us about extending that”, according to his agent.
However despite the speculation, the player’s representative stated that no formal contact had been made regarding a bid, and that Liverpool would look for a high fee.
“The club have not spoken to us about selling him either. I haven’t given any thought whatsoever to it with regards to Celtic or any other club.”
“If Liverpool we willing to sell, and that’s a big if because I’ve not had that conversation with them, they would ask for too much money for him.”
A move to Celtic would see Allen linked up with former Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers, with the pair having previously worked together at Swansea City.
