Liverpool will take on Barcelona at Wembley this summer as part of their pre-season preparations.
The International Champions Cup encounter is likely to be the Reds’ final warm-up game ahead of their new Premier League campaign and was today confirmed to take place at 5pm on Saturday, August 6.
Luis Enrique’s side will be the third opposition Liverpool face in the competition, preceded by clashes with Chelsea in Los Angeles and AC Milan in Santa Clara.
The game will see Jurgen Klopp’s side come up against former Anfield striker Luis Suarez for the first time since his £75 million move to the Catalan giants.
Liverpool ambassador Gary McAllister said: “What an incredible game to round off such a high-profile tournament – and all set under the iconic Wembley arch.
“I’m sure this game will be a great spectacle for Reds fans and football fans in general. I can’t wait.”
Tickets are due to go on sale for season ticket holders on June 1, and on general sale on June 3.
