Liverpool stalwart Martin Skrtel has told Jurgen Klopp that he wants to leave Anfield this summer.
Skrtel has two years remaining on his current Reds deal but has failed to cement his status as a first-choice defender under Klopp, with Mamdou Sakho, Dejan Lovren and Kolo Toure all regularly favoured instead.
And the 31-year-old has reportedly already asked to leave Liverpool following eight years’ service.
The Daily Telegraph claim Skrtel is already considering a move to Besiktas with agent Mithat Hails confirming: “Skrtel is considering a move to Turkey and he is open to the option of playing here.
“Fenerbahce made an offer last season, Besiktas want Skrtel and make no secret of this. Turkish sides have been trying to sign him for five seasons but this summer he could make the move.”
Slovakia international Skrtel has made 319 appearances for Liverpool since arriving from Zenit St Petersburg in 2008.
