Christian Benteke has vowed to stay at Liverpool next season in the belief he will improve under Jurgen Klopp.
Benteke’s debut season at Anfield yielded just nine goals in all competitions, with the most recent coming as a last-minute equaliser against Chelsea in midweek.
A host of clubs are expected to vie for the one-time £32 million striker this summer, including Premier League counterparts West Ham.
But the Belgium international insists that he can flourish under the guidance of Klopp, who was appointed Liverpool manager just seven months ago.
“When I signed I didn’t sign for one year – I want to stay here next year,” he told the Liverpool Echo.
“I think I have the quality and the manager knows my strengths and weaknesses – I’ve no doubt (Klopp can make me better).
“I know I’ve had a tough season but I’m going to fight until the end.
“Everything can change so I keep focused and keep going for the team and myself.”
