Liverpool have dominated the latest shortlists for FIFA’s The Best awards.
The European champions will have three nominations in the Best Player award with Sadio Mane, Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah all included in the list.
But the Anfield trio face competition from Cristiano Ronaldo after Portugal to Nations League glory this summer as well as Barcelona talisman Lionel Messi.
Tottenham and England captain Harry Kane, who was Salah and Mane’s opposite number in last season’s Champions League final, also made the shortlist.
Salah previously won the Puskas award for Goal of the Year for a curling long-range effort in a Merseyside derby draw with Everton in December 2017.
Jurgen Klopp has also been nominated for the Men’s Coach award after delivering the Reds’ sixth Champions League crown in Madrid last month.
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola, Mauricio Pochettino of Spurs and Ajax’s Erik ten Haag are among those battling the Liverpool manager for the accolade.
