Jurgen Klopp puts Liverpool FC star’s future on hold until summer

Joe Allen has revealed that his long-term Liverpool future remains on hold until this summer.

Allen continued his impressive run of form for the Reds by opening the scoring in yesterday’s 2-0 win over Watford but remains in limbo over the longevity of his Anfield career.

With little over a year remaining on his current deal, the Wales international has yet to meet with Jurgen Klopp or anyone connected to Liverpool to discuss a potential extension.

And the former Swansea man, a £15 million signing by Brendan Rodgers in 2012, admits that things are currently at an impasse.

He said: “I can’t say there have been any changes on [the contract].

“The manager has said that between now and the end of the season it’s not the right time to talk about those things.

“I think that works out well for everyone. My target is always to develop and improve as a player.

“In the past few months I’ve had more game time and that’s been great for myself. It’s helped build up my level of performances to a better standard.”
