Liverpool can challenge for the title and Europe

Jordan Henderson believes Liverpool are capable of fighting on multiple fronts.

Tuesday’s Champions League last 16 first leg clash against Bayern Munich begins a potentially season-defining week for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

The Reds could also wrestle back control of the Premier League title race this weekend when they travel to face a rejuvenated Manchester United.

But Henderson feels that there is enough quality within the Anfield dressing room to vie for both major honours between now and the end of the season.

He said: “If we had to choose, we’d choose both.

“We prioritise game by game, no matter what competition it is, so tomorrow night for us is the biggest game of the season, and then so on and so on.

“It’ll be like that until the end of the season, that’s how we approach every game. That’s what we need to do, it’s not about favouring one competition.

“I feel we have a good enough squad to be able to challenge in both competitions as best we can, and hopefully at the end of the season we see we’re champions of at least one, if not both.”
