Jurgen Klopp has ruled out Philippe Coutinho’s potential return to Liverpool.
Coutinho joined Barcelona little over 12 months ago in a deal worth £142 million but has struggled to make a meaningful impact for his new employers.
A surprise Anfield homecoming continues to be touted as the Brazil international as he battles to hold down a first-team place at with the Spanish champions.
But Klopp has categorically dismissed suggestions that the Reds would entertain a second spell with Coutinho.
He said: “That is something I don’t want to talk about. I would not say it is a potential transfer or a likely one.
“Nothing to say. Whatever I say would open more stories and there is no story.
“Phil is at Barcelona and as I know he fits really well and everything is fine.”
