Keita could feature in Manchester City clash

Naby Keita could return for Liverpool in Sunday’s clash with Manchester City.

Keita was withdrawn midway through the first half of the Reds’ eventual Champions League defeat to Napoli in midweek with a suspected back injury.

The Guinea international underwent several precautionary tests in hospital before being allowed to return to Merseyside with Jurgen Klopp’s side on Thursday.

Although Klopp remains unsure of the full extent of Keita’s recovery, he has refused to discount the midfielder’s participation in the City showdown.

He said: “He had a back spasm, so we have to wait a little bit.

“He will be in today; if he can do something on the training ground, I don’t know.

“I spoke to the Doc this morning but he didn’t know. We have to see him again in a few minutes and then we will make a decision about that.

“We don’t know in this moment as well if he can train tomorrow, we have to see.

“It didn’t look too serious, so there’s a chance [of facing Manchester City] but we don’t know.”
