Liverpool make history with 2018/19 third kit launch

Liverpool have launched their 2018/19 third kit with the help of a virtual squad in a world-first.

New Balance and Konami helped the Reds unveil their new change strip with exclusive preview footage of PES 2019, which launches next month.

It meant that Jurgen Klopp’s side became the first club to use video game graphics to launch their new jersey, which is described as Grey Violet in colour.

Other design aspects see the third kit pay homage to the iconic away strip that Liverpool wore between 1987 and 1991, during Kenny Dalglish’s reign.

The jersey also features Racing Red detail on the shoulder panels, and red crest and NB logo, as well as featuring a crew neck collar with insert.

To commemorate the tragic events of Hillsborough, the 96 emblem, encased by the eternal flames sits at the nape of the neck.

Sadio Mane said: “We had a strong campaign in 2017/18, and we already can’t wait for the new season to begin.

“I’m really looking forward to stepping out onto the pitch and playing in the kit – it’s a really strong look.”

Fans who purchase an adult shirt, junior shirt, mini kit or baby kit before 1 August 2018 will also receive a £10 Liverpool FC retail voucher to spend in-store and online during August.

LFC Season Ticket Holders and Members also receive 10% discount when purchasing the kit in-store and online.
