Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could be sidelined for Liverpool until November.
Oxlade-Chamberlain saw an impressive debut season at Anfield curtailed by a knee injury sustained during last month’s Champions League semi-final with Roma.
But the England international’s hopes of returning for pre-season training have reportedly been dealt a blow as he begins rehabilitation in the problem.
According to the Liverpool Echo, Oxlade-Chamberlain has started his road to recovery but stlll faces up to six months out of action for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
The news comes as a blow to the Reds, who are already set to lose one midfielder this summer with Emre Can expected to leave on a free transfer.
Naby Keita’s arrival from RB Leipzig will help cushion the blow of the German’s likely departure but Liverpool will still need additional options in Oxlade-Chamberlain’s absence.
