Liverpool face Champions League final ticket scramble

Liverpool fans face another ticket scramble for the Champions League final.

UEFA have allocated only 16,626 tickets for the Reds’ appearance in this month’s showpiece against Real Madrid at Kiev’s Olympic Stadium.

The reigning European champions were also given the same number of tickets for the 70,050 capacity venue in the Ukrainian capital.

An addtional 6,700 tickets have been ringfenced for ‘worldwide supporters’.

Most of Liverpool’s travelling support will have to pay between £109 and £394 per match ticket with only 2,660 moderately priced between £48 and £61.

Anfield officials will have to dilute the number of available tickets by a further 2,000 due to an agreement drawn up as part of the club’s 2007 takeover.

Any shareholders who sold their stock to former owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett received a lifetime guarantee of tickets for cup finals.
