Liverpool ranked top for Premier League agent fees

Liverpool have been revealed as the highest-paying Premier League club for agent fees.

A combined £26.8 million was spent by Anfield officials between summer 2017 and January 2018 according to the Football Association’s annual records.

That period coincided with the signings of Mohamed Salah, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and the £75m club-record capture of Virgil van Dijk.

It is the second time that the Reds have topped the table for agents fees, with their £14.3m outlay in 2014/15 previously seeing them ranked first.

The latest spending on agent fees was almost double Liverpool’s £13.8m figure recorded during the 2016/17 period.

Champions-elect Manchester City came in third with £23m spent while Manchester United sanctioned £18m fees directly behind their local rivals.
