Liverpool are waiting to learn the extent of Joe Gomez’s latest ankle injury.
Gomez returned to Merseyside on Sunday after picking up the problem while playing in England’s friendly win over Holland two days earlier.
The defender will be assessed by the Reds’ medical team amid fears he could be sidelined for their Champions League quarter final clashes with Manchester City.
He is already expected to miss Liverpool’s trip to Crystal Palace this weekend.
Trent Alexander-Arnold is expected to step into the void at right-back, where boht he and Gomez have been vying for large parts of this season.
Alexander-Arnold was invited to train with England as part of their preparations for the game in Amsterdam but was not drafted into the senior squad.
Gomez previously suffered a season-ending knee injury on under-21 duty in October 2015, shortly after Jurgen Klopp’s appointment as Liverpool manager.
