Roberto Firmino is keen to establish himself as one of Europe’s elite strikers.
Firmino headed into the Champions League’s last 16 on-par with the likes of Neymar, Harry Kane and Edinson Cavani in the competition’s scoring charts.
Only Cristiano Ronaldo has recorded more goals than the Liverpool striker as he prepares to take on Porto in Wednesday’s first leg of their knock-out tie.
And Firmino admits that he wants to keep up the pace with the continent’s most prolific players while simultaneously helping the Reds progress.
He said: “Of course I want to be at their level.
“But I only focus on playing a good game.
“If I play a good game then the goals will appear.
“I am trying to give my maximum for the team and trying to be alongside these great players in Europe.”
