New Liverpool signing Marko Grujic has backed Lazar Markovic to win over Reds manager Jurgen Klopp.
Markovic, a £20 million signing from Benfica in 2014, is currently on loan with Turkish giants Fenerbahce but is set to return to Anfield this summer in a last-ditch attempt to impress Klopp.
And Grujic, who will join the Reds this summer following his January move from Red Star Belgrade, believes his compatriot has what it takes to adapt to the English game after initial teething problems.
He said: “I’d like Lazar to return.
“He needed time to adapt to England and a new style of play.
“[Playing] together would be easier for both of us”.
Highly-rated Grujic has had a frustrating campaign to date, missing over half of Red Star’s Serbian SuperLiga fixtures through injury.
And the 20-year-old has admitted that the series of injuries has left him feeling deflated at times.
Grujic added: “Now I’m so frustrated. I want to contribute to the team play, after all my injuries I’ve lost all motivation”.
