Liverpool fear no one in Champions League last 16

Jurgen Klopp believes Liverpool will be a threat to all of their potential Champions League last 16 rivals.

Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Juventus could face the Reds in next Monday’s draw after they topped Group E with an emphatic 7-0 rout over Spartak Moscow.

The result saw Liverpool replace Manchester United as the Champions League’s highest-scoring English team in the competition’s group stage.

And Klopp insists that his free-scoring side’s potential opponents will hold no fears as they reached the knock-out phase for the first time since 2009.

He said: “We knew if we won we would top the group so that’s not the biggest surprise but I think it’s strange this year in the group stages.

“There are a lot of really strong teams. This year is quite special. Not often you can face Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, but Juve and all the others.

“Antonio Conte said it yesterday, there are no easy opponents and I don’t think anyone is happy when they get us in the draw.

“We will not be happy when we see who we face in the next round, but we will ready.

“I don’t mind too much who we get – usually I always get Real Madrid so we will see. We have no preferred opponents, it will be really nice after a long time.

“I love this kind of news.”
