Liverpool FC set to receive under 10,000 ticket allocation for Europa League final

UEFA have announced that Liverpool will receive just 9,000 tickets should they reach the Europa League final next month.

The Reds take on Spanish side Villarreal in the semi-final, with the winners facing either Shakhtar Donetsk or holders Sevilla in Basle on May 18.

However if the Reds do make it to the final, many supporters are likely to miss out on tickets, with the club already having estimated 27,00 season ticket holders.

UEFA have selected Basel’s St Jakob Park as the venue for the final, despite the stadium only having a capacity of 35,000, and around 9,00 tickets have already been sold to global fans.

The remaining tickets, estimated to be 8,000, will go to sponsors and other members of the ‘UEFA Family’.

Liverpool have also announced ticket prices for the home leg against Villarreal on May 5th, with prices ranging from £45 in Tier 1 to £32 in Tier 6.
