Klopp ‘ready’ to become Bayern Munich manager

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has been backed to take the reins at Bayern Munich.

A search for Carlo Ancelotti’s replacement is underway after the Italian was deposed in the wake of the Bundesliga champions’ defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.

Hoffenheim boss Julian Nagelsmann and Thomas Tuchel, Klopp’s successor at Borussia Dortmund, are the firm favourites to replace the ex-Chelsea boss.

But Christoph Metzelder believes that Reds manager Klopp should be under consideration by Bayern, who have placed Willy Sagnol in temporary charge.

The former Germany international, who played for Dortmund prior to Klopp’s arrival, believes a return to the 50-year-old’s homeland is a logical step.

“He is a top man-manager and could make the complex power relationship work wonderfully,” Metzelder told Sky Sport Deutschland.

“Nagelsmann is an outstanding coach but Bayern Munich is, of course, a different size [to Hoffenheim].

“From my point of view, Jurgen Klopp would be ready.”

Klopp signed a new six-year contract with Liverpool last summer, sealing his future until summer 2022.
