Emre Can is currently facing up to the prospect of missing the rest of Liverpool’s season with an ankle injury.
Can left Anfield on crutches and wearing a protective boot after sustaining the problem in the final stages of the Reds’ emphatic Europa League quarter-final comeback against Borussia Dortmund last night.
The Germany international, 22, will undergo a scan today on his twisted ankle to determine if any ligament damage was caused in the incident, which could rule him out of action for the remaining month of the campaign.
He is already set to miss Sunday’s trip to Bournemouth due to suspension but is now a doubt for next week’s Merseyside derby clash with Everton.
