Liverpool FC will wish Coutinho ‘the best’ if he leaves

Emre Can insists Liverpool’s players will wish Philippe Coutinho ‘the best’ if he leaves.

Barcelona remain intent on landing the Brazilian playmaker despite two bids of £72 million and £90.2m being rejected by the Reds already this summer.

Coutinho has also submitted a transfer request but the Anfield hierarchy continue to resist all approaches, insisting that he is not for sale at any price.

Reports in Spain have alleged that the 25-year-old could now go on strike in attempts to force through his proposed move to Catalonia.

But Can has revealed that the Liverpool dressing room is unfazed by the latest developments on Coutinho and would not bear resentment at his possible exit.

“I think it’s no problem for us because nobody speaks in the team about that,” he told ViaSat Sport.

“Of course, if Philippe stays with us then everybody is happy – in my eyes, he’s one of the best players in the world.

“But if he goes, if he wants to go, then everyone will wish him the best and we have to go again.”
