Sadio Mane will make his first Liverpool outing in three months on Saturday.
Mane missed the final eight games of the Reds’ run-in last season after suffering a knee ligament injury in April’s Merseyside derby win over Everton.
The Senegal international has undergone a rigorous rehabilitation programme in anticipation of featuring in Saturday’s pre-season friendly with Hertha Berlin.
Jurgen Klopp confirmed Mane’s inclusion in his plans for the game at the Olympiastadion but admitted that Danny Ings will not be able to feature.
He said: “Danny will not be in the squad, for him it is too early – but Sadio will be in the squad for sure.
“Danny looks good – fantastically actually – but playing is a little bit different.
“We thought about giving him the opportunity to play with the U23s because we have the opportunity, especially with the strikers, but it makes not too much sense.
“We wanted him here so he really could train with us, but he will not be in the squad tomorrow.”
