Liverpool FC midfielder challenges Anfield crowd to see off Borussia Dortmund

Liverpool midfielder James Milner believes the power of the Anfield crowd can propel the team to victory over Borussia Dortmund.

Jurgen Klopp’s team face the Bundesliga giants in tomorrow night’s Europa League quarter final second leg, with the tie delicately poised following last week’s 1-1 draw at Signal Iduna Park.

And Milner, who will stand in as Reds captain for the injured Jordan Henderson, believes the aura of Anfield on a European night can rival anything in world football.

He said: “The fans are always brilliant and hopefully it will be another special European night.

“Any player wants to play in the big games and the best atmospheres and European nights at Anfield are definitely right up there with any on the planet.

“Hopefully we can use our atmosphere, even if the worst happens and they get an early goal, the fans can roar us on to get us back into the game.”
