Sakho hopeful of reviving Liverpool FC career

Mamadou Sakho is still hopeful of securing a first-team return at Liverpool.

Sakho continues to impress during a loan spell at Crystal Palace after he was banished to the first-team wilderness at Anfield last summer by Jurgen Klopp.

A series of misdemeanours preceded the France international’s move to Selhurst Park, including being expelled from the Reds’ pre-season tour of America.

But Sakho remains optimistic in forcing his way back into Klopp’s plans despite admitting that he is firmly at the mercy of the Liverpool manager this summer.

“I still have a contract for three more years. If I were to wear the Liverpool jersey again, I would be happy to do so,” he told Telefoot.

“I was late for training, something that happens everywhere. I paid a fine and I do not know what else I can do.

“It is up to the boss. He makes the decisions and I can only accept that.

“We will see what happens if my future is elsewhere.”
