Jurgen Klopp has vowed that Liverpool will be able to compete for the highest calibre of players in the summer transfer window.
Doubts over the current strength of the Reds’ squad have surfaced following a dismal start to 2017 which has seen them win just twice in their past 12 games.
Arsenal’s visit will offer Klopp the chance to remedy a slump which has seen his side exit two cup competitions and surrender their Premier League title bid.
Arsene Wenger pipped Liverpool to Alexis Sanchez’s signing in 2014, which was one of several high-profile examples of elite players continually eluding Anfield.
But Klopp insists that the club boasts more than ample resources to help them compete with the high rollers of the Premier League in the transfer market.
He said: “Yes, we can go for the players we want. It was not since I was here for one second about money.
“Nobody told me in this club: ‘Stop, that is too much money.’ It was always because we were convinced about the player, the situation.
“One or two players in January, when we had problems with injuries and the Africa Cup, would have been cool.
“Could we have had more? Yes, but the transfer window in the winter didn’t give us any opportunity.
“We had this problem, but we will be prepared and ready for the summer for sure. We need to still make the right transfers.”
