Jurgen Klopp fires Liverpool FC future warning

Jurgen Klopp has warned that everyone at Liverpool faces a fight for their future – including himself.

Hopes of the Reds securing a top four finish this season were dealt a fresh blow during a 3-1 defeat to a manager-less Leicester City on Monday night.

The result at the King Power Stadium leaves Liverpool with just one win from their past seven games in the Premier League since the turn of 2017.

And Klopp refused to hold back in his assessment that both he and the current squad are now playing for their respective places at Anfield.

He said: “It’s getting more serious now. We all play for our futures – myself included.

“We get judged every day, especially on match days. Of course performances have influence on these things.

“I don’t think they aren’t as good as I thought, but I think they need my help more to show it every week.

“I feel maximum responsible because I am. I hope I use the word ‘we’ and not ‘they’ because I’m involved in this.

“It’s not the moment to make assessments like this, especially not in public, but I try to say the truth as often as possible.

“But bad performances don’t help anyone, that’s clear.”
