Adam Lallana agrees new £22m Liverpool FC contract

Adam Lallana is set to sign a new long-term deal with Liverpool this week.

Negotiations between the England international and Reds officials have concluded with the player set to pledge his future to Anfield until summer 2020 at earliest.

An additional 12-month option can be taken up in a deal understood to be worth £110,000 per week to Lallana, who joined from Southampton in summer 2014.

Should he see out the full four-year term, the midfielder stands to net just shy of £23 million while the figure could increase dependent on Liverpool’s success.

Lallana emerged as a vital figure during Jurgen Klopp’s maiden 12 months in the Anfield hot seat and went on to receive greater recognition with England.

Last month he was named as the national side’s Player of the Year for 2016, edging out captain Wayne Rooney and in-form striker Jamie Vardy.

This season the 28-year-old has been involved in 14 of Liverpool’s Premier League goals this season – only one fewer than leading scorer Sadio Mane.
