Liverpool FC have ‘lost the flow’, admits Klopp

Jurgen Klopp has acknowledged that Liverpool have ‘lost the flow’ as they look to end their dismal start to 2017.

Progress in both the FA Cup and EFL Cup were ended last month, as did the Reds’ bid to challenge for the Premier League title with one win in 10 games.

Tomorrow’s visit of Tottenham will afford Klopp’s side the chance to banish their month-long slump which extended into this month with a 2-0 defeat at Hull City.

And the Liverpool manager admits that the confidence which saw them head into the New Year hot on the heels of Chelsea needs to be restored this weekend.

He said: “We recognised, at one point we lost the flow.

“In this moment, you not only lose the flow but then it’s this and that; this player’s out, and this player’s coming back but no rhythm, this player’s coming back but from another country.

“Then this player’s injured and coming back after how many days, and then you come in and another two players are ill or injured. That’s how it is.

“It’s really rare that one player’s out and the other player who comes in is in a world-class situation, because of not playing for a long time.”
