Liverpool FC targeting Premier League winner

Demarai Gray has emerged as Liverpool’s latest attacking target this summer.

The winger joined Leicester City from Birmingham City at the beginning of 2016 and made several cameo appearances in their unlikely Premier League triumph.

But the Foxes’ current fall from grace this term could see the Reds swoop for Gray with the Daily Mail claiming that Jurgen Klopp has identified the youngster.

Bayer Leverkusen winger Julian Brandt remains the Liverpool manager’s primary target in the summer transfer window but others also remain in contention.

Klopp’s attempt to raid Borussia Dortmund for Christian Pulisic fell flat as his former club rejected an £11 million bid last summer for the US international.

Gray has scored just twice for Leicester, with his latest coming in Wednesday’s FA Cup replay win over Derby County, but has been involved in a further six goals.

Also on Klopp’s agenda will be strengthening his attacking options internally as Adam Lallana prepares to sign a new long-term contract until summer 2021.

Liverpool have already secured the future of Philippe Coutinho with a five-year deal which will see him become the club’s highest-paid player.
