Robbie Fowler believes that Liverpool ‘have the sign’ over Everton going into Monday’s Merseyside derby.
The Reds have enjoyed a formidable record against their rivals across Stanley Park after going unbeaten in their 12 previous meetings with Ronald Koeman’s side.
And Fowler, who scored decisive goals in five derbies during his Anfield career, feels that Jurgen Klopp’s players can still have an upper hand on their local rivals tomorrow.
“Liverpool have had a little bit of a sign over Everton over the last few years.
“The old cliche of form going out the window for derbies hasn’t been the case.
“For five plus years, Liverpool have been the better team on paper going into the game and they have come out on top.
“I don’t think they are easy and you have to earn the right to get the result.
“I think the players will buoyed by their results this year, despite the loss to Bournemouth so they will be quietly confident.”
