Liverpool’s principal owner John W Henry has dismissed claims that a takeover of the club is imminent.
Talksport broadcaster Ian Abrahams alleged that a deal with a Chinese consortium was in the works and could be completed before Christmas.
Reports of interest in the Reds from Far East investors have emerged in recent months, speculating that current owners Fenway Sports Group are set to sell.
But Henry responded to Abraham’s claims on Twitter, disputing the claims.
“Good that your sources will be debunked so soon,” he told the broadcaster.
“Usually it takes a long time!”
Both Henry and several figures from FSG have continually denied suggestions that the Americans, who have been in charge since 2010, are preparing to sell.
