Philippe Coutinho has allayed injury fears after travelling with Liverpool’s squad for tomorrow’s trip to Southampton.
The Brazilian was a doubt for the game at St Mary’s after undergoing a scan on a tight hamstring at a local hospital on Thursday.
Coutinho’s fitness scare emerged less than 24 hours after he had returned from his country’s World Cup qualifiers with Argentina and Peru.
But the 24-year-old could feature now feature in the clash with the Saints after flying with the Reds’ travelling party.
Roberto Firmino, who was on Brazil duty with Coutinho, also made the journey to the South Coast after returning to training on Friday afternoon.
However Adam Lallana will be denied a reunion with his former club after failing to shake a groin problem sustained with England.
The former Southampton winger limped out during a 2-2 draw with Spain on Tuesday after he had opened the scoring at Wembley.
Georginio Wijnaldum is expected to be in contention as Lallana’s replacement.
