Liverpool face an anxious wait to discover whether Adam Lallana will be fit for Saturday’s trip to Southampton after limping out on England duty.
Lallana opened the scoring for the national side in their 2-2 friendly draw with Spain but was withdrawn midway through the first half with an injury.
The winger will report back to Melwood later today as the Reds attempt to determine the extent of the problem sustained at Wembley last night.
Jurgen Klopp is already sweating on whether Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino will be fit in time for the trip to St Mary’s following their exploits with Brazil.
Coutinho featured for his country in a World Cup qualifying win over Peru while Firmino was an unused substitute for the game at the Estadio Nacional.
But the influential pair are due for a belated return to Merseyside due to the Lima encounter taking place in the early hours of this morning.
