Tony Bellew’s rematch with David Haye confirmed

Tony Bellew will take on David Haye again in a second bout at London’s O2.

The Liverpool-born boxer won the original match-up in March with an 11th-round win after Haye suffered an Achilles injury midway through.

But the pair are set to face off in a rematch on December 17, with WBC cruiserweight world champion Bellew vowing to end Haye’s career.

He said: “I will be victorious on December 17 and I will end David Haye’s career.

“I will have the exact same attitude I had going into the first fight – win at all costs.

“Another loss to me closes the curtain on the Hayemaker.”

Former WBA heavyweight Haye is relishing taking on Bellew again and vows that history will not repeat itself after his sixth-round injury.

“Last time the script was thrown out the window and the unpredictability of sport revealed itself in its most raw form,” said Haye.

“Bellew somehow won the lottery in our first fight, but believe me, he won’t win the lottery twice.

“I’ve been training every day for over six months. I already feel fitter, stronger and more athletic than I did for our first showdown.

“I will relish the opportunity to re-write the ending of the Haye-Bellew story.”
