Welcome to our guide to casinos in Liverpool. Let’s take a look at where you can play your favourite games while in the city.
Most of the casinos in Liverpool are clustered along the river Mersey in the Queen Square area, so if you fancy a night at the tables you will want to head in that direction.
Once you get there you will have a handful of establishments to choose from. We will cover what they offer in this complete guide to casinos in Liverpool.
5 Casinos Worth Checking Out in Liverpool City
Grosvenor Casino Leo
Grosvenor is one of the biggest name in the UK land based casino scene. This is its only casino in Liverpool city, and it has a glass front overlooking the river Mersey directly.
Multiple floors of gaming await with slot machines, video poker, baccarat, blackjack, poker, and roulette on offer.
This venue is open 24 hours and has an a la carte restaurant and bar, meaning you can spend as long as you like trying your luck.
The casino opens at noon and shuts at seven in the morning, so whatever hours the urge takes you, you will be able to play.
Genting Casino Queen Square
Another big hitter in the UK casino scene is Genting. This one is situated in the heart of Liverpool in a modern, yellow-brick building with all the games you could want to play.
Games include baccarat, blackjack, roulette, lots of slot machines and poker. There is also a theatre, a late bar, and a restaurant with a variety of grub on the menu.
If you want to have a party the casino also offers venue hire. Otherwise head down between 2pm and 6am for a dance with lady luck.
Leisure Time Casino
You could throw a stone from Liverpool Central station and it would land just outside Leisure Time. This is Liverpool’s arcade casino and slots are the main event here.
This isn’t your traditional casino with stylish bars and restaurants and plush surroundings. It’s a duck-in slots heaven, and those who love to spin the reels and enjoy fast-paced action will be best served here.
Leisure time keeps standard business hours and is open between 9am-5:30pm. Check it out if you fancy a break from shopping in the busy streets outside.
Genting Casino Wirral
Genting makes its presence known again with a this stylish casino on the other side of the river from the others mentioned here. Head over to Oxton Road and you can’t miss it.
Games on offer are the standard fare – baccarat, blackjack, poker, roulette, and slots. There’s a restaurant serving burgers, steaks, and other tasty food. You will also be able to enjoy a beer or cocktail at the late bar.
If you want to play slots, games begin at noon. If you are more interested in live card and table games then you will have to hold off until 2pm. Everything shuts down for a few hours at 6am before it all begins again the next day.
Wirral is a little out of the way, so unless you happen to be there anyway you won’t find anything here you can’t find at Genting Queen Square.
Genting Casino Renshaw Street
You might have already figured this out, but Genting pretty much run the Liverpool casino scene, and this is another establishment operated by them.
You will pretty much find here what you would at either of the other two – a solid selection of games including baccarat, blackjack, poker, roulette, and slots along with a restaurant full of hearty meals and a late bar serving larger, spirits and cocktails.
One extra at the Renshaw Street location is a Mah Jong room. If you’ve ever spent any time in Asia, you will know what that is. The room can sit up to 32 players.
This casino is open 24/7. If either of the other casinos are closed, then head on over to Renshaw Street at any time of the day or night.
So Which Should You Pick?
They’re all much of a muchness, to be honest, and you will be well served at any of them. We would say to keep in mind Leisure Time is not a casino per se, and is more a place to spin the reels and have a little fun in the afternoon or early evening.
Pick any one of these and you will enjoy quality gaming in very decent establishments. Enjoy and we hope luck is on your side.
