Liverpool fans who sold their shares to Tom Hicks and George Gillett will be entitled to Europa League final tickets.
UEFA have made only 10,000 tickets available to the Reds for the showpiece at Basel’s St Jakob-Park on May 18 but that distribution is set to be further reduced due to terms agreed during the reviled duo’s time in charge at Anfield.
As part of the agreement to sell to Hicks and Gillett in 2007, the 2,000 former shareholders are entitled to lifetime priority rights to tickets, even in the event of not attending a Liverpool game since the agreements were struck.
Current owners Fenway Sports Group have examined the legitimacy of the deals but despite taking over in 2010, the Americans are obligated to fulfill the terms agreed by their predecessors.
